Interviewing with Channel 7 News before the research boat heads out of Mooloolaba Harbour

We were invited to join a small team of scientists hired to do the first marine biodiversity assessment of the Sunshine Coast’s near shore reefs. This is the kind of work we really love to be involved in. And the fact that it’s in our local waters is especially important to us.

The project is commissioned by the Noosa Integrated Catchment Association, with funding from the Sunshine Coast Regional Council and the Norman Wettenhall Foundation. The assessment was a pilot for what we hope will be a more comprehensive project to be commissioned in the future. We were asked to film and photograph the study, adding to the research data. We’ll also make a short film about the project.

The local TV news came along one morning and shot a piece as we loaded up the dive boat. The reporter, Jennifer Nichols, kindly gave us permission to post the news story here.
